Châu Sơn Monastery - 87-year-old European architecture in Ninh Bình
About 35km from the center of Ninh Bình city, and about 15km from Cuc Phuong National Park, there is a scene like "European sky", which is the Châu Sơn Holy Mother Monastery (Phú Sơn commune, Ninh Bình province). The monastery was built in 1939 to become a monastery specializing in contemplation.
The church is designed in the Western Gothic style with windows and main doors all having a common feature of curved, pointed arches. The church is a place to worship Jesus and pray every day. The construction was built using manual methods, without using reinforced concrete but entirely with red bricks, left unplastered, creating an ancient beauty.
The area around the church also has the Fatima Garden with green grass, artificial egg-shaped stones; the Jacob honeycomb well located underground and the Skull Mountain cave behind Châu Sơn monastery...
