Tà Xùa Plateau

Where is Tà Xùa Plateau?

Tà Xùa Plateau is located along the same route as Mỏm Cá Heo and Cây Cô Đơn, about 10 km from the center of Tà Xùa commune. The road to here is quite easy to travel, with a wider road surface compared to many other cloud hunting spots and clear signposts.

From the center of Tà Xùa commune, it takes only about 20–30 minutes to travel by motorbike or car to reach the plateau.

The beauty of Tà Xùa Plateau

The first thing that impresses visitors upon arriving here is the vast space with endless grassy hills. Interspersed among the plateau are clusters of green trees, rolling hills, and a sea of clouds that appears on favorable weather days.

The air here is always cool year-round thanks to its altitude of nearly 2,000 m. Standing in the middle of the plateau, you can feel the refreshing breezes, the scent of fresh grass, and the rare tranquility of the Northwest mountains.

Especially on sunny days, the blue sky combined with the lush green grass creates a scene that resembles a miniature European plateau.

The best time to explore

Each season of the year, Tà Xùa Plateau brings its own unique beauty.

• Spring (March – May) is the time when the grass and trees are lush, and wildflowers bloom vibrantly across the hillsides. The fresh, cool air is perfect for picnics and photography.
• In autumn (September – November), the grassy hills turn a light yellow, creating a romantic scene amidst the mountains.
• If you love cloud hunting, you should come in winter and during the cloud hunting season from October to April. This is when the sea of clouds appears the most, especially in the early morning when clouds cover the valleys.

Travel guide

From Hanoi, you can choose:

• Travel by motorbike via the Sơn Tây – Thu Cúc – Bắc Yên – Tà Xùa route.
• Travel by personal car.
• Take a limousine or passenger bus to Bắc Yên and then rent a motorbike to explore.

From the center of Tà Xùa commune, head towards Mỏm Cá Heo, and after passing Cây Cô Đơn, you will see the sign directing you to Tà Xùa Plateau.

The road is quite easy to travel, but there are still steep sections and bends typical of mountainous regions. If traveling early in the morning or after rain, it is advisable to drive slowly as the road may be slippery.

Cloud hunting on the plateau

At an altitude of nearly 2,000 m, this is one of the most beautiful cloud hunting spots in Tà Xùa. In the early morning, the sea of clouds covers the valleys below, creating a scene as if standing in the paradise of clouds.

The ideal time for cloud hunting is from 6:00 to 8:00 AM.

Picnic in nature

The spacious and flat area makes Tà Xùa Plateau a very suitable place for picnics.

Just prepare a mat, some snacks, and drinks, and you can enjoy a relaxing morning in the fresh nature with family or friends.

Overnight camping

Many visitors choose to camp here to catch the sunrise and gaze at the starry sky at night.

However, since the temperature at night is quite low, especially in winter, you should prepare enough tents, sleeping bags, and warm clothing.

The plateau has many beautiful photo spots with green meadows, a sea of clouds, mountains, and winding paths.

If you want beautiful photos, choose outfits in white, beige, brown, or moss green to harmonize with the natural scenery.
