The journey to Fairy Falls is a memorable experience. The road leading to Wind Pass winds and curves through the mountains and forests, revealing a majestic landscape when viewed from above. Standing halfway up the pass, looking down into the misty valley, visitors will feel the vastness and grandeur of the Northeast mountains and forests.

Fairy Falls is also known as Wind Falls, Twin Falls, or Táng Tinh in the Nùng language. The waterfall originates from the Tả Ngán stream at an altitude of over 1,400m, cascading from a height of about 70m down the slopes of Wind Pass. From a distance, the waterfall appears like a soft white silk ribbon draped across the green hillside. Despite falling from a great height, the waterfall is not too fierce but rather melodious and gentle, creating a soothing symphony amidst the wilderness.

A unique feature of Fairy Falls is that its flow is divided into two branches. The main branch on the right consists of two tiers of water, with the lower tier splashing white foam before merging into the clear water pool at the foot of the falls. The other branch flows parallel, more gently. At the foot of the falls is a natural pool about 3–5m deep and 15–20m wide, so clear that one can see the bottom. The water here is cool year-round due to its altitude of over 1,000m. Strong winds combined with moisture create a thin mist that hangs in the air, adding to the ethereal atmosphere.

Not only does this area feature waterfalls, but it also possesses a rich primeval forest ecosystem. The dense vegetation includes wild orchids, herbs, wild mushrooms, and many species of valuable hardwood trees. There are ancient sến trees hundreds of years old, with diameters over 2m still standing tall amidst the wilderness. This is an important protective forest area with significant biological, geological, and climatic value.

Visiting Fairy Falls – Wind Pass, tourists can not only immerse themselves in the pristine nature but also combine their visit with exploring the ancient stone field of Nam Dan – a site preserving the traces of ancient Vietnamese people dating back about 2,000 years. From the top of the pass, visitors can also visit cold-water salmon farming models – a successful experiment in the cool highland region.

Each season, Fairy Falls has its own unique beauty. Summer is the ideal time to wade through the stream and enjoy the cool water at the foot of the falls. In autumn and winter, the lingering mist adds to the mysterious scenery, resembling a fairyland amidst the mortal world.

With its majestic landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and distinctive cultural-historical values, Fairy Falls – Wind Pass is not only an attractive ecological tourism destination but also a place for people to find peace amidst the pristine nature of Tuyen Quang's mountains and forests.
