📍 HÀ GIANG, VIETNAM
⛰️ Hà Giang – every bend is a heartbeat that falls.
In the middle of winter, when the golden sun pours honey on the mountainside, I drift along the emerald green Nho Quế River, weaving through the majestic Tu Sản gorge – known as the “first gorge in Southeast Asia.” The water gently laps against the side of the boat, with towering cliffs on both sides touching the sky… just looking is enough to feel small amidst the vast nature.
From the bends on Mã Pí Lèng, casting my gaze down to the river embracing the mountains and forests, to the charming little villages nestled in the valleys… Hà Giang is both majestic and poetic; both strong and gentle.
And Hà Giang is not only beautiful in scenery. Hà Giang also “holds you” with its flavors: bamboo rice dipped in sesame salt, grilled pork, and stir-fried mustard greens with garlic. Every dish is rustic yet rich, just like the people here — seemingly simple but unforgettable for those from the lowlands.
🌙 On a chilly night, don’t forget to try the ấu tẩu porridge: unusual in taste but warming to the stomach, after eating, the whole journey feels softer.
