🍂 When you come to Lai Châu, don't miss the SAN THÀNG MARKET – A place that gathers the colors of the highland culture in the Northwest
Just about 5km from the center of Lai Châu City (QL4D), San Thàng market is a very special rendezvous of the highlands. The market is held regularly on Thursday mornings and Sunday mornings every week — just the kind of “going to Lai Châu without visiting the market is missing a piece of experience”.
On market days, the whole space is vibrant with the colors of traditional costumes of the local people: Mong, Giay, Dao, Thai, Lu…. Not only a place for buying and selling, the market is also a place for meeting, chatting, and exchanging news — a cultural rhythm that has existed for a long time.
Here, you can find everything, from vegetables, rice, essential goods… to mountain products like forest honey, wild chicken, forest birds… Simple but truly “home-made, a gift from the forest”.
And the most impressive are the traditional handicraft products: scarves, shirts, brocade fabrics… each stitch carries the story of skilled hands and the identity of each ethnic group.
✨ If you want to touch the true “breath” of the Northwest, spend a morning visiting San Thàng — go to admire, to listen, to feel, and to love Lai Châu a little more.
