On the evening of April 27 (Vietnam time), at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France held a ceremony to award certificates to 12 new UNESCO Global Geoparks (GGP) and to 44 GGPs that have passed the re-evaluation process, continuing to be recognized as UNESCO Global Geoparks.
Attending the ceremony in France was Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO Nguyen Thi Van Anh, who attended the ceremony in person and received the certificate.
Participating in the online ceremony in the province were comrades: leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Management Board of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and representatives of departments and units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province.
This is a deserving recognition for the persistent efforts of the province in the journey of preserving and promoting the values of geological, cultural, and natural heritage associated with community livelihood development. At the same time, this affirms the local commitment to seriously implement the recommendations of UNESCO experts in the previous re-evaluation process, aiming for sustainable development and widely spreading the heritage values to the international community.
