Mango cake is a traditional long-standing cake of the Quang Tri people, often appearing during the Lunar New Year to offer to ancestors and entertain guests. The cake is made from pure, high-quality flour, chicken eggs, and sugar, creating a distinctive flavor. When cooled, the cake is lightly crispy, with a fluffy and moderately fatty filling, and a sweet taste that melts quickly on the tongue.

During the New Year, the plate of cake is placed on the altar first, then brought down to invite guests, as a way to express respect and affection. Just one piece is enough to evoke memories of the old New Year, where laughter gathered and the warmth of the fire crept through each cold windy day.
