The Final Of The Then Singing And Tính Instrument Festival Online In 2026 In Na Tu.

On the evening of June 6, at the Nà Tu historical site, Cẩm Giàng commune, the Vietnam Then Cultural Heritage Association in collaboration with the Cẩm Giàng People's Committee organized the final round of the online Then Singing and Tính Instrument Festival in 2026. The event attracted a large number of artisans, members, and those who love Then art from many localities across the country.

After the launch period, the Organizing Committee received over 80 contest videos from artisans, members, and practitioners of heritage from provinces and cities such as Thái Nguyên, Tuyên Quang, Cao Bằng, Lạng Sơn, Bắc Ninh, Đắk Lắk, and many other localities. The contest performances showcased the richness and diversity of Then singing and Tính instrument art in the current cultural life of the community.

Through the preliminary round, the 31 best performances were selected for the final round to perform live at the Nà Tu historical site – a place associated with many historical revolutionary marks of the Việt Bắc region.

In a space rich in ethnic cultural identity, over 300 artisans, performers, and Then enthusiasts gathered together, bringing unique and emotional performances. Each performance showcased the unique characteristics of Then art in each locality, from traditional Then melodies to new lyrics reflecting the breath of contemporary life.

The sound of the Tính instrument resonating along with the smooth Then lyrics created a meaningful cultural night, contributing to honoring the values of this unique folk art form that has been closely tied to the spiritual life of the Tày, Nùng, and Thái people for many generations.

At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded First, Second, and Third prizes to artisans and performers with outstanding achievements in the categories of traditional Then and new lyrics. The Cao Bằng Then Heritage Association won the First Prize at the Final of the Then Singing - Tính Instrument Festival in 2026. This is a recognition of individuals who have made significant contributions to preserving, teaching, and promoting Then singing and Tính instrument art.

The online Then Singing and Tính Instrument Festival in 2026 is not only a cultural playground for artisans and heritage lovers but also an opportunity to meet, exchange, and share experiences among Then practitioners across the country. Through this activity, the value of Then singing and Tính instrument art continues to be widely spread within the community.

At the same time, the festival also contributes to raising awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and the public in preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of “Then practice of the Tày, Nùng, and Thái people in Vietnam” – a heritage recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
